  • Vannes — EDHEC Sailing Race: a student classic in April, plus many regattas from June to September in the Gulf of Morbihan.

What are the major South Brittany sports events in summer?+

South Brittany's summer is paced by Quiberon and La Trinité-sur-Mer regattas, the Auray triathlon, the Voiles de Lorient in early August, GR34 trails and many local running races. The Tour de Bretagne cycling race takes place in April-May. The full calendar is updated at the campsite reception.

Does the Tour de France visit South Brittany in 2026?+

The final 2026 Tour de France route is announced by ASO in October 2025. Historically, Brittany regularly hosts stages — check letour.fr for official confirmation. The 2026 Tour de Bretagne (April 25 – May 1) is confirmed and crosses the 5 Breton departments.

Can you train directly from the campsite?+

Yes, this is one of Le Moulin des Oies Campsite's strengths. The private beach allows open-water swimming, the GR34 starts 5 min walk away for trail/running, and Morbihan's roads are perfect for cycling. We also offer bike rental and secure parking for sports gear.

When is the Auray triathlon held?+

The Auray triathlon usually takes place in July, with several formats (sprint, Olympic distance, short). Registration opens in spring. It's one of the most popular triathlons in western France for its setting in Auray bay. Check exact 2026 dates on the Auray town hall website.

How to get to Quiberon regattas from the campsite?+

Quiberon is 25-30 minutes by car from the campsite. In high season, the Quiberon road bottleneck is heavily congested: we recommend arriving early or taking the Tire-Bouchon (small train) from Auray. The Quiberon port is accessible on foot from the centre.

Is the campsite suitable for sports groups?+

Yes, we regularly host groups (cycling clubs, triathlon, sailing). Several mobile homes side by side, adapted meals at the snack bar, gear parking, and direct access to the region's sports infrastructure. Contact us on +33 2 97 55 53 26 for group rates.
