Here are some hiking guides to explore:

GR34 – From Lorient to Quiberon: via the Ria d’Étel
The Ria d’Étel is crossed by the GR34, and Camping Le Moulin des Oies is right at the heart of this exceptional route.
From the Citadel of Port‑Louis, facing the port of Lorient and the coast, you follow a unique path between land and sea to the Ria d’Étel. On the way, you head towards Gâvres, where the dune ridge, which protects the sea at low tide, offers a magnificent landscape. This site is also ideal for shore fishing, particularly for collecting cockles and clams.
The Ria d’Étel, an inland sea of Morbihan, is a delicate meeting point between salt and fresh waters. During your hike, you’ll see the island of Saint‑Cado, just opposite Camping Le Moulin des Oies, a former fishing port sheltered from ocean waves. Near the campsite, a large area is dedicated to shore fishing. Walking along the coast, don’t miss the Étel sandbar and its fishing port.
From Étel to Plouharnel, the landscape blends sea and countryside, with a stopover in Erdeven. Not far from Plouharnel, you can discover the region’s dolmens and megaliths. Finally, in Plouharnel, continue your adventure towards the Quiberon peninsula.

Aquatic world

Shore fishing
Make the most of the spring tides to enjoy shore fishing along the shores of the Ria d’Étel! It’s the perfect opportunity to spend a pleasant moment with family and friends while exploring this beautiful environment.
What is a tide?
A tide is the rise and fall of the sea, caused by the Moon’s gravitational pull. When the tidal coefficient exceeds 100, we speak of a "spring tide". The higher the coefficient, the farther the sea recedes, offering a wider fishing area — eagerly awaited by shore fishers.
Cockles, clams, razor clams, periwinkles… will delight fishers of all levels, from the most experienced to beginners!
Important reminder
Shore fishing is subject to strict regulations. It’s essential to respect the minimum shell sizes and to put back the rocks you have turned over, in order to preserve the ecosystem. To avoid collecting shells that are too small, rulers are available at local Tourist Offices. By adopting these responsible actions, you contribute to sustainable fishing and the preservation of our natural heritage.
Discover the pleasures of line fishing or boat fishing
Whether you’re a beginner or an enthusiast, the region offers exceptional fishing opportunities. From the area’s tranquil shores or aboard a boat in the Bay of Quiberon, you can discover many fish species.
Sea bass, gilthead bream, mackerel and flatfish await patient, attentive fishers. Enjoy moments of serenity by the water, or set off on a unique sea experience surrounded by breathtaking coastal scenery. With gear in hand, let the gentle lapping of the water carry you as you soak in nature’s calm.
An ideal activity for families, friends, or solo adventurers — a perfect experience during your stay at Le Moulin des Oies!
